Basically her body is deficient in nutrients such as potassium and magnesium and does not eliminate toxins like most others do. The result is seizures. It is reversible. She originally started out as a vegetarian and started back up eating red meat because her potassium levels were very low. Now she’s a Taco Bell kid! Way to go huh.
So yadda yadda yadda. Its a lot of medical mumbo jumbo. But she moved back to L.A. and is staying with me until she finds an apartment. She is a tough cookie because it hasn’t stopped her from working, excelling at work and working hard everyday despite being physically exhausted by the seizures. She’s had to be hospitalized a few times since being here because her seizures will be excessive, lasting the whole day.
So how does this all relate to me (because we all know that’s what we came to talk about)? Well, in those moments when she is seizing or being taken to the hospital I have cried and felt so little and helpless. I thought I was stronger than this. I thought I was open to anything other than seeing blood or broken bones. I just hate not knowing how to make it end or not always knowing the answers to the doctor’s questions. I pray for her always because I know God designed our bodies and can heal us or give us the opportunity to correct the damage. I also know that I am in the right place at the right time. Why? Well because what I have learned in the way of nutrition and natural healing through herbs during my relationship has allowed me to offer my sister an alternative. One none of my other family members would be able to do because they think I’m just tree hugging anyway!
Anyway, I just know she means a lot to me and I know she loves me back. She brought me a red rose today when she got home from work! Sweet. I made her fish and rice…
