I am exhausted. Its been three weeks out on public transportation and it has been tough. I admit now, we no longer have a car. I can say that outloud now. This won't last for long though because God works all things for good.
This in between is really kicking my butt. I walk about 1 hour every day combined total. Sometimes run to catch a bus before we have to wait another hour for the next. I constently remind myself THAT'S good. And we stay gone for most of the day just getting the kids to school on the other side of town.
But the truth is besides being exhausted, I get to get out and see the world around me. The laughable, such as the guy who's shirt reads "define girlfriend"; the crazy, like the guy who brought his pitbill on the train; to the sad, the chick who lost her last $20 to some hustler and his find-the-ball-under-the-cup trick. We've chased a school bag left on the train all the way to downtown LA and lost jackets too.
But I think the biggest and best moments had has been the time with the kids and each other. We get to volunteer at the school, show the kids life outside and enjoy sunshine. Its been challenging but life changing. And I feel more trusting of God then i've ever felt in my whole life. My faith has been activated and I know that all things are in Gods time and for His purpose. That's all that's to be relied on.
