Late Night Confession

Love Dare: Day 7

So far, the Love Dare has been like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". The first set of questions are easy. Very common information. "What color are the golden arches?" "Who's Mickey Mouse's girlfriend?"
You build up this confidence like yep, I got this. I can get that million!

The dares so far have me feeling the same way, they're pretty simple. Its basically positive lists, negative lists, irritations, things that make you smile, etc. And so maybe because we don't have major issues right now or this great tension between us, it feels all honeymoony, sweet and whole lotta romantic.

What I am learning is that it is making me pay attention to my spouse. Devote time to pay attention to my husband. Our marriage is relatively short despite the 8.5 years we've been together. And with kids, jobs, bills, and so on and so on it is easy to fall into complacency. Comfortable and assuming. Even the small hellos and good nights are meaningful and connecting. And even the small communication is best when practiced often. So when bad times do come, the commitment will carry you through.

I suspect it will be getting more challenging and more thought provoking. I suppose it is good practice for the days ahead. 35 days in when all you either wanna do is stop talking or you really get deep, it will be nice to have the confidence to see it through to the million dollar end.
