Late Night Confessions

At 4.5 and 5.5, I guess I felt like it would be easier as they got older for them to fall asleep on there own. My sister-in-law was telling me her two year old already lays in her bed and sings herself to sleep. And so I admit I am jealous. So not the Christian way but if you knew the agony of putting my two to bed.

I've tried the routine way, the nice way, the come sleep with me way, the get a whooping way, the super nanny way. And regardless of the approach the outcome is still the same. Screaming, crying, fit-throwing, 2 hour long sessions. I even try the lets go to bed earlier to get a jump on the two hours it takes. And sure enough that turns into three hours or more. (Or usually daddy just coming in and throwing his scariness around, depending on how tired he is).

And of course as the mighty hat wearing mom & wife, etc., etc., I get the you-never-spend-anytime-with-me silent treatment from the HOH. I just never have enough time in the day for everyone. You can definitely count me out on that list of who needs me. And I often times even feel guilty I don't get enough time in with the most important man in my life; my Heavenly Father.

But I know there's got to be a break in sight to this bedtime dilemma. I mean my bro stopped sleeping with my mom at some point.(Ok at 10 but still) :)
