I wondered this in an earlier blog; have we been cursed in making the right decisions from the very start of time. Is Eve's choice to eat the very apple that she was forbidden to eat the catalyst to wrong choices in food for our whole lives.
I am starting a program, a 50 day challenge, and part of the requirements is to write down all that you eat and calculate your caloric intake. ha! I never was one for writing down what i eat, let alone the calories. One because I know I would cheat like crazy and leave out pieces. I really didnt need to see on paper how horrible I ate.
Well, with the shift in our house to eliminate sweets and snacks and infuse better choices like brown rice, lentils, beans, grapeseed oil, salmon, no meats, fruits, yada yada yada, i felt like we have been doing very good. in fact the hubby just keeps dropping weight like nobodys business. Me on the other hand still look like an oompa lumpa. So i wonder with the knowledge we have and the cooking skills we have ..... WHAT IS THE PROBLEM!
Well it turns out I am a fool...
Proverbs 12:15..."The way of fools seems right to them,..."
lets look at day ones list:
cheese
cheese
cheese
string cheese
water
water
turkey pepperoni
cheese
bagel
cream cheese
see a theme?
ha ha. not only do i make some horrible choices but i eat a boatload of cheese. and i dont eat alot of calories but i dont eat alot of wise choices either. of course day one had to be a day we spent the whole day out and at a high school alumni picnic! nothing about the day is good.
so tomorrow will be a new day and new choices. and i will give the Chef a run for his money.
